The return of Cesc Fabregas is one of a host of changes made by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for tonight’s Champions League Group H match with Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
The Spanish midfielder sat out the 2-0 home win over Wigan but he returns to the starting line-up for the match as already-qualified Arsenal look to clinch top spot in the group.
Also included in the starting line-up are Philippe Senderos, Eduardo, Gilberto, Nicklas Bendtner, Armand Traore and Justin Hoyte, none of whom started at the weekend.
Robin van Persie, Alexander Hleb, Abou Diaby and Gael Clichy – who has started every Premier League and Champions League match this season – miss out through injury.
Mathieu Flamini makes the bench after recovering from his thigh problem.
Sevilla coach Manolo Jimenez welcomes back captain Daniel Alves after the Brazilian full-back was suspended for the 2-1 league defeat against Real Mallorca at the weekend.
Strike duo Frederic Kanoute and Luis Fabiano are also passed fit to play, while Jose Angel Crespo, who has only recently returned from a broken cheekbone, starts in defence.
