The Labour Party says it will cancel all plans for private hospitals on public land as a matter of urgency if it forms part of the next Government.

The promise is part of a 10-point plan that the party says it will implement during its first 100 days in office.

Labour is also vowing to appoint a director to roll out a programme to deliver pre-school education.

Elsewhere, the plan says the Garda Commissioner will be instructed to implement a civilianisation programme and to begin deploying 1,000 additional community gardaí around the country.
