Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis joined the suspended Diego Costa in missing Chelsea’s top of the Premier League clash at home to Manchester City.

Chelsea’s hopes of extending their five-point lead from the holders were hit by injuries to Fabregas (hamstring) and Luis (calf) as Jose Mourinho made three changes following the midweek FA Cup win over Liverpool, with Cesar Azpilicueta, Ramires and Loic Remy coming in.

City were looking to end a two-match losing streak and made five changes to the side which exited the FA Cup to Middlesbrough, with Joe Hart among the returnees and Chelsea’s record goalscorer Frank Lampard on the visitors’ bench.

Chelsea: Courtois, Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry, Azpilicueta, Ramires, Matic, Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Remy.

Subs: Cech, Ake, Drogba, Cahill, Christensen, Loftus-Cheek, Brown.

Man City: Hart, Sagna, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Fernandinho, Fernando, Jesus Navas, Silva, Milner, Aguero.

Subs: Zabaleta, Dzeko, Kolarov, Caballero, Lampard, Jovetic, Boyata.

Referee: Mark Clattenburg (Tyne & Wear)
