SIPTU staff at Aer Lingus have accepted the company’s proposed survival plan, drafted following the aviation crisis sparked by the attacks on the US in September.

SIPTU staff at Aer Lingus have accepted the company’s proposed survival plan, drafted following the aviation crisis sparked by the attacks on the US in September.

The result after counting was 81% in favour.

Under the deal, the workers must accept more than 2,000 redundancies, a 15-month pay freeze and cuts in overtime and annual leave.

The result of a ballot of IMPACT staff will be announced tomorrow.
