Achilles injuries keep Murphy and Gray out for Bohs

Bohemians can move to within touching distance of table-toppers Shamrock Rovers with victory over Sligo Rovers at Dalymount Park tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.

Pat Fenlon’s side would go third with a win that would leave them only two points behind the Hoops with a game in hand.

Anto Murphy and Stephen Gray remain out for Bohemians as the duo are struggling with Achilles problems.

Aaron Greene is still recovering from an ankle injury and is set to miss out once more, while Gareth McGlynn returns, having missed the victory over TNS through suspension.

Fenlon said: “I think Sligo will be there or thereabouts at the top of the league when things are down for decision.

“They are on a good run at the moment and have signed some very good players like Joseph Ndo, who I believe is playing very well for them.

“They are a good side with quality throughout the team. I know Paul will say they don’t have the numbers and are a bit short when they get a few injuries or suspensions but when they get the 11 they want on the pitch they are as good as anyone in the league.

“Sligo gave us two very tough games already this season including a draw here in Dalymount and we will need to be at our best in order to take the points on Friday.”

Danny Ventre returns to the Sligo squad for the trip to Bohemians. Ventre was suspended for the 2-1 win against UCD in The Showgrounds on Tuesday night.

Mauro Almeida and Matthew Blinkhorn are injured for the clash with the league champions.

And the Bit o’ Red have minor doubts over several players but they are all likely to recover in time for the game.
