Ulster coach Brian McLaughlin has named his side for Sunday’s Magners League clash with Cardiff Blues in Cardiff City Stadium (kick-off 3.45pm).

Young winger Craig Gilroy joins Scotland’s Simon Danielli and ex-Manly Sea Eagles full back Adam D’Arcy in the back three.

Ballinahinch centre Nevin Spence links up with Ian Whitten at centre. Ruan Pienaar is on international duty with South Africa so promising young scrum half Paul Marshall links up with Ian Humphreys at half back.

Dan Tuohy, who won his first Irish cap in the summer against the All Blacks, partners Johann Muller in the engine room.

Stephen Ferris is missing, but Ulster still name a strong backrow containing Springbok Pedrie Wannenburg, alongside Chris Henry and Robbie Diack.

Meanwhile, Cardiff Blues coach Dai Young has named his side for this weekend’s game.

Jamie Roberts is still on the treatment table so Dafydd Hewitt continues at inside centre.

Former All Black number eight Xavier Rush, who almost signed for Ulster in the summer, will provide plenty of ballast from the back of the scrum.
