Soccer

Manchester United and Spurs have played out a 2-2 draw in the main Premier League game of the day.

Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford scored for the home side while Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur replied for the visitors at Old Trafford.

Elsewhere, Seamus Coleman made history today as he became the record appearance holder in the Premier League for Everton.

The Republic of Ireland defender made his 355th appearance in the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.


Nigeria avoided a shock in their opening game at the Africa Cup of Nations after briefly trailing to draw 1-all against Equatorial Guinea.

Elsewhere, Mohamed Salah's Egypt are 1-0 up on Mozambique.

The evening game sees Ghana face Cape Verde at 8pm.

 

Golf

Rory McIlroy was made to pay for a bogey on the final hole as he missed out on the Dubai Invitational title to Tommy Fleetwood.

The four-time major winner finished on 18-under-par, a single shot back from his Ryder Cup team-mate.

McIlroy is good friends with Fleetwood - and he says that makes defeat easier to take.

Cavan's Arva have taken the ultimate prize in Junior Club football after being crowned All Ireland Champions today.

They came from behind late on to get the better of Listowel Emmets of Kerry by 13-points-to-10 at HQ.

Meanwhile, the Intermediate final sees Cork's Cill Na Martra come up against Cullyhanna of Armagh.

It's Cullyhanna 1-08 Cill 0-06 in the final few minutes.


Lee Chin scored 2-7 for Wexford as they put Carlow to the sword in the Walsh Cup this afternoon.

Wexford came away with a 3-20 to 19 point win over their neighbours.

Dublin made it two wins from two with a 2-31 to 1-20 victory over Antrim earlier.

Galway ran through Laois by 6-29 to 2-20 in Ballinasloe.


Conor Lehane's goal was the key for Cork as they got past Clare in the Munster Hurling League this afternoon.

The Rebels came out on top 1-24 to 24 points.

Tipperary also picked up a big win over Kerry earlier with the Premier recording a 1-28 to 1-14 victory.


Donegal will play Derry in this year's final of the Dr McKenna Cup.

Jim McGuinness' men beat Monaghan in their semi-final this afternoon by 4-14 to 11 points in Castleblaney.


It will be Cork vs Kerry in the final of the McGrath Cup in football.

That's after the Rebels got the better of neighbours Waterford by 1-20 to 6 points this afternoon.

Tipperary finished their preseason with a 1-11 to 10 point win over Limerick.

 

Rugby

Bath came from behind to grab a 29-25 win at home to Racing 92 and book their place in the last-16 of the European Champions Cup.

The hosts ran in four tries to move level on points with Pool 2 leaders Toulouse.

Ronan O'Gara's La Rochelle lead from start to finish to beat Leicester Tigers 45-12.

At the minute, Bordeaux lead Saracens by 14 points to 3 in the first half.

 

Snooker

The final of The Masters is taking place at Alexandra Palace.
