Cork hurdler Derval O'Rourke continued her preparations for next month's European Championships by almost nabbing another national record tonight.
The World Indoor champion clocked 12.94 seconds – just 0.02 down on the new mark she set earlier this month – at the DN Galan/IAAF Super Grand Prix meet in Stockholm.
The time saw her finish third in the 'B' 100m hurdles final at the Olympic Stadium, and eighth overall, just behind her main European rivals – Sweden's Susanna Kallur (12.79) and Glory Alozie of Spain (12.89).
US star Michelle Perry won the 'A' final and the overall event in 12.60 seconds.
Kallur is the undoubted favourite for gold at the Europeans in Gothenburg as she has dipped as low as 12.52 this season. The 25-year-old was third behind O'Rourke at the World Indoor Championships in March.
O’Rourke, who gained four World Athletics Tour points for her run in the Swedish capital, is due to compete at the GE Money Grand Prix in Helsinki tomorrow night.
