Man accused of Russell murders due in court

Michael Stone, the man accused of the murders of mother and daughter Lin and Megan Russell, is to appear in court.

Michael Stone, the man accused of the murders of mother and daughter Lin and Megan Russell, is to appear in court.

Stone, 40, of Gillingham, Kent, is due to appear before a judge at Nottingham Crown Court for a preliminary hearing.

He has been charged with killing Lin Russell, 45, and her six-year-old daughter Megan near their home in Chillenden, Kent.

Stone also faces a charge of attempting to murder Josie Russell, who was nine when her mother and sister were killed in 1996.

He is due to appear before Mr Justice Poole for a plea and directions hearing.
