Funeral Details Announced For Model Lisa Murphy As Family Thank Hospital Staff

The family of the late model Lisa Murphy have expressed their “sincere gratitude” to all the staff at St Vincent’s Hospital, and in particular the oncology department, for their “care and support over the years.”

Ms Murphy died on Thursday morning aged 51 after “bravely fighting a long illness.”

She was predeceased by her older brother, Paul, and is survived by her parents, Des and Eileen, and her siblings, Noel and Kira.

Ms Murphy will lie in repose at the Larry Massey Funeral Home in Rathfarnham, Dublin, on Monday from 2pm to 4pm.

Her funeral mass will take place at 11am on Tuesday in the Church of St John the Evangelist in Ballinteer, followed by burial in Mount Venus Cemetery.

The former beauty salon owner was a star of the Dublin Wives reality TV show on TV3 in 2012 and 2013. She was a familiar face on the Irish social scene during the Celtic Tiger years and was previously engaged to Irish dancer Michael Flatley. She also had a long-term relationship with solicitor Gerald Kean.

Tributes have been made to Ms Murphy on social media. Mr Kean told RTÉ that she was a “truly wonderful lady” with whom he had shared “a lot of happy times.”

Riverdance star Michael Flatley told the Irish Independent that he had visited Lisa in hospital prior to her death. He said she was a “lovely caring person.”

Former Miss World Rosanna Davison said she had “great memories” of Ms Murphy who was a “really kind, bubbly, fun, really sweet woman.”

Cork businessman Michael Mulcahy said his late friend was “so genuine, so kind and so lovely.”
