HSA admits it was 'over-zealous' in calendar case

The Health and Safety Authority has conceded it was "over-zealous" in the way it dealt with a Limerick garage owner.

The Health and Safety Authority has conceded it was "over-zealous" in the way it dealt with a Limerick garage owner.

Following an inspection by one of its officials, the man was told to remove calendars featuring photos of topless women or face possible censure.

The HSA has said there was no chance of the business being shut down, but it is clear the garage owner had a very unsatisfactory experience.

The garage owner said he was delighted that common sense had prevailed.
