The North's Agriculture Minister, Brid Rodgers, has confirmed, in the last few minutes, there is a foot and mouth outbreak on a farm in South Armagh.

It is the first case confirmed on the island of Ireland.

The sheep in question were imported into Northern Ireland on the 19th of February.

Agriculture Minister Brid Rodgers, has introduced a new regime into the North whereby there is going to be a complete ban on the movement of livestock.

This will be a very stringent ban on the movement of all animals in response to this very serious development..
