McAleese to visit Irish emigrant groups in NYC today

President Mary McAleese is due to visit a number of Irish emigrant centres in New York today on the second leg of trip to the United States.

President Mary McAleese is due to visit a number of Irish emigrant centres in New York today on the second leg of trip to the United States.

Yesterday, Mrs McAleese visited Syracuse University in New York State.

She has now travelled on to New York City, where she will visit emigrant groups in Queens, the Bronx and Long Island and attend a lunch hosted by Tourism Ireland.

Mrs McAleese will also attend the American Ireland Fund gala dinner tomorrow.
