Scalded Galway club Killererin have launched a scathing attack on their county board following their dismissal from the county SFC.

Officials from the club were left seething when a series of appeals ended with the upholding of their earlier ejection.

The club, home to county stars Alan Keane and Padraig Joyce, believe they weren't obliged to turn out for extra-time in their clash with An Ceathru Rua during the summer.

They released a statement yesterday which read: "The Killererin players left the field in the honest belief that the game would be replayed on another day as the light was fading fast at 9 pm.

"We maintain we have done nothing wrong. What is the point of the GAA having a rule book if they are going to disregard it?"
