Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is hopeful Robin van Persie will recover from a painful kick on his right shin during training ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League tie against FC Thun.

Van Persie reacted angrily after being caught by defender Emmanuel Eboue but Wenger insisted the winger should recover in time for tomorrow’s game at Highbury.

Thierry Henry is absent with a groin injury and Jens Lehmann is suspended - with Manuel Almunia poised to start instead – while Sol Campbell is hoping for a recall after recovering from a calf injury.

Provisional squad: Almunia, Poom, Lauren, Eboue, Cole, Clichy, Senderos, Cygan, Campbell, Toure, Gilberto, Flamini, Fabregas, Song, Pires, Hleb, Ljungberg, Van Persie, Reyes, Bergkamp, Owusu-Abeyie.
