Stephen Archer and Dave O’Callaghan will start in place of BJ Botha and Paddy Butler as Rob Penney makes just two changes for Munster’s RaboDirect PRO12 clash with Benetton Treviso in Thomond Park Stadium on Friday (8pm).

O’Callaghan will wear the number six jersey and keep company with James Coughlan and impressive new singing Sean Dougall in the back row.

Archer is joined in the front row by Damien Varley and Wian du Preez while Penney is giving another outing to the second row pairing of Donncha O’Callaghan and Billy Holland.

New centres James Downey and Casey Laulala showed signs of greater cohesion in last weekend’s win over Edinburgh and unsurprisingly they have been chosen in midfield again.

Denis Hurley continues at fullback while the wings retain the combination of youth and experience in the form of Luke O’Dea and captain Doug Howlett.

Duncan Williams and Ian Keatley complete the backline with Peter Stringer and Scott Deasy providing half-back cover on a strong replacements bench.

Munster: D Hurley; D Howlett (c), C Laulala, J Downey, L O’Dea; I Keatley, D Williams; W du Preez, D Varley, S Archer; D O’Callaghan, B Holland; D O'Callaghan, S Dougall, J Coughlan.

Replacements: M Sherry, D Kilcoyne, BJ Botha, D Foley, P Butler, P Stringer, S Deasy, I Dineen.
