Saturday’s £90,000 Grade Two contest will also see 2005 winner Ollie Magern in action in a race where all eight runners will be having their first start of the season.

Kingscliff and Monkerhostin will represent Robert Alner and Philip Hobbs respectively, while champion trainer Paul Nicholls relies on five-year-old Turko.

Bewleys Berry, a course and distance winner, will run for the powerful Graham Wylie and Howard Johnson combination, while David Pipe will unleash Madison Du Berlais in the three-mile-one-furlong heat.

Pipe was successful in last year’s race when Our Vic proved seven lengths too strong for Neptune Collonges.
