Two brothers aged in their 20s and another man are to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday charged with the murder of Thomas 'Toddy' Dooley in Co Offaly earlier this year.

Two brothers aged in their 20s and another man are to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday charged with the murder of Thomas 'Toddy' Dooley in Co Offaly earlier this year.

The 64-year-old was found dead at his home in Sister Senan Court in Edenderry on February 16.

He had sustained injuries to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three men in their 20s were detained in Dublin, Kildare and Offaly earlier and were brought before Tullamore District Court.

The court heard brothers 20-year-old Sean Davey of Clonmullen Drive, Edenderry and 23-year-old James Davey of Thornhill Meadows in Celbridge made no reply when charged.

Mathew Cummins (aged 20) of Churchview Heights in Edenderry replied: "I never touched him".
