Djetou blow for Cottagers

Fulham’s start to the Premiership season was rocked today with the news Martin Djetou could be out for another month with a knee injury.

The centre-back, who joined the Cottagers from Parma on a year-long loan on July 19, has missed pre-season and been at home in France recovering from his cartilage problem. He is expected to be sidelined until mid-September.

Fit-again Steve Finnan could replace his pre-season stand-in Abdeslam Ouaddou and Lee Clark is nearing full fitness but fellow defender Pierre Wome is still waiting for his work permit and Barry Hayles is suspended - so new striker Facundo Sava could start.

Provisional squad: Van der Sar, Finnan, Ouaddou, Brevett, Melville, Goma, Collins, Davis, Inamoto, Malbranque, Legwinski, Saha, Boa Morte, Marlet, Sava, Herrera.
