Baby daughter for Zoe Ball
Presenter Zoe Ball has become a mum for the second time, the BBC announced today.
Radio 2 host Ball, married to DJ Norman Cook, gave birth yesterday to a daughter, Nelly May Lois Cook.
She and Cook, who live in Hove, East Sussex, already have a nine-year-old son called Woody.
A Radio 2 spokeswoman said: “We wish the Cook family our warmest congratulations.”
Ball, 39, is expected to take a two-month break from the radio.
Former TV host Richard Madeley will be stepping in to cover her Saturday morning 6am show tomorrow.
Ball, who had been trying to conceive again for a number of years, announced she was pregnant in July.
The couple split temporarily in 2003 with Ball briefly linked to another DJ, Dan Peppe.
Cook, who last year sought help for his drinking, has a sister called Lois.
Nelly weighed in at 8lbs and Ball said she was “utterly gorgeous”.
A spokeswoman said: “Mum, baby, dad and big brother Woody are doing great and are the happiest family in town.”
