Roberts felt like Lara Croft in the jungle

Ashley Roberts went into "Lara Croft mode" on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'.

The former Pussycat Dolls star recently finished second on the ITV1 show and admits she turned into a "jungle warrior" and imitated the fictional 'Tomb Raider' video game character in the Australian jungle, but she has no idea how she coped so well on the programme.

She said: "I don't know what happened to me when I was in there. This persona took over and I went into Lara Croft mode.

"I became a jungle warrior, going in head first.

"I felt a mixture of emotions because it was tougher than I could have imagined. It was feeling so disconnected from everything, of not being able to pick up the phone.

"I missed friends and family, my mom and dad and dog Cooper. He's been with me every day since I got him three years ago. I missed him desperately."

But Ashley believes her time on the show has made her a better person and "grateful" for the life she has got.

She added to Hello! magazine: "It made me so grateful for how lucky I am. It also gave me an inner strength that I could never have anticipated. I came out feeling strong and confident - I wasn't expecting that."
