A couple from Co Waterford have picked up a cheque for €3,088,033 at Lotto headquarters this afternoon.

A couple from Co Waterford have picked up a cheque for €3,088,033 at Lotto headquarters this afternoon.

The pair, who have decided to remain anonymous, won Wednesday night's Lotto jackpot with a €16 multi-draw ticket they bought at Tesco in Ardkeen Village in Waterford.

The couple say the first thing they will do is pay off the mortgage.

They have described their win as "truly life-changing".
