Second man in hospital after Louth shooting

A second man has presented himself with non-life threatening gun shot at a Dublin hospital after a man's body was discovered in Ardee, Co Louth.

A second man has presented himself with non-life threatening gun shot at a Dublin hospital after a man's body was discovered in Ardee, Co Louth.

Gardaí believe the two incidents are connected. Another person is already in hospital after the incident.

The shooting incident occurred at about 11pm at the Sliabh Breagh (Slieve Bray) estate in Ardee when a number of men arrived at a house.

The body of a man in his 20s was found on open ground shortly after 4am.

Gardaí believe a number of shots were fired following an altercation a premises.

The men fled the scene on foot, one of which is thought to have left in a taxi.

The scene has been sealed off and has been preserved pending the arrival of the Garda Technical Bureau.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Sliabh Breagh area from 10pm last night or anyone with information to contact the incident room at Ardee 0416871130, the garda confidential line 1-800-666-111 or any garda station.
