Dunlop tells jury he lied and was engaged in paying councillors for rezoning votes
Former lobbyist Frank Dunlop has told a jury he lied to the Flood Tribunal and spent 13 and a half months in jail after pleading guilty to a number of corruption charges.
The 65-year-old is being cross examined at the trial of businessman James Kennedy of Queens Quay, Gibraltar, who he says gave him money to pay local politicians to support land rezoning in South Dublin.
"Are you an honest person?"

"No not always"
So started barrister Michael O’Higgins cross examination of Frank Dunlop on behalf of client businessman Jim Kennedy.
The former lobbyist admits lying on oath to the planning Tribunal in April 2000 about an AIB account but has told the jury that after some reflection he admitted the account was a war chest for rezoning purposes.
The 65-year-old has given evidence he was engaged by businessman Jim Kennedy in 1992 and 1997 to pay Dublin councillors to vote and support land rezoning in Carrickmines.
Mr O’Higgins has told the jury he has a large number of questions and this cross examination will take ‘some considerable time’.
