Barrett set to be confirmed as incoming Ceann Comhairle

Fine Gael TD Seán Barrett has confirmed he will be the new Ceann Comhairle in the 31st Dáil.

The Dun Laoghaire TD will have to be formally elected when the Dáil convenes at midday.

Speaking outside the Dáil this morning he said he hoped he would be impartial in his decisions and show leadership in the role.
