Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta returns to the Everton squad for tomorrow’s Barclays Premiership clash with Charlton after serving his one-match ban.

Arteta missed yesterday’s 1-0 victory at Sunderland after being sent off during the derby defeat by Liverpool last Wednesday.

But Phil Neville, who was also red-carded in the Merseyside derby, is sidelined once again as it was his second dismissal of the season.

Simon Davies aggravated an ankle problem at the Stadium of Light, while Per Kroldrup was unavailable against Sunderland due to a similar injury, but both stand a chance of being involved.

Provisional squad: Martyn, Hibbert, Yobo, Weir, Kroldrup, Valente, Ferrari, Naysmith, Hughes, Davies, Cahill, Kilbane, Arteta, Osman, Bent, Beattie, Ferguson, McFadden, Wright, Ferguson, Li Tie.
