Wexford unchanged for Leinster semi

Wexford will line out with the same team for the third successive match when they clash with Carlow in Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-final at Croke Park (throw-in 2pm).

With no injury concerns, manager Jason Ryan has been able to put his faith in the fifteen players who started the runaway wins over Offaly and Westmeath.

Wexford have been in free-scoring form so far this summer, putting 2-16 on the Faithfuls and registering 1-24 in their win over Westmeath last time out.

Championship newcomers Rory Quinlivan and Ben Brosnan have retained their places in midfield and at wing forward respectively. Brosnan has caught the eye with 0-14 in his first two Championship outings, while their top scorer has been the in-form Ciarán Lyng (1-16).

Colm Morris, still the heartbeat of the side at 32, will continue his roving role, leaving Lyng and Redmond Barry to operate in a two-man full-forward line.

Morris told the Wexford Echo: "It is going to be a massive task because Carlow themselves are only 70 minutes away from a Leinster final.

"So, regardless of whether it was Carlow or Louth, we knew we would be facing a major battle with both ourselves and the opposition just one step away from a big day out.

"Eric (Bradley) coming back from injury and the form of Ciarán (Lyng), 'Red' (Barry) and Ben (Brosnan) in front of goal has made a huge difference for us.

"But Eric coming back has been the vital cog because we now have three options under kickouts, and he is very strong in that area. That has definitely strengthened things up, and the team has clicked a bit better in the Championship."

The Model men are bidding to qualify for their first Leinster senior final since 2008 when they lost heavily to Dublin. Morris was the captain back then and led them through to the semi-finals of the All-Ireland Championship.

WEXFORD (SFC v Carlow): Anthony Masterson; Joey Wadding, Graeme Molloy, Brian Malone; Adrian Flynn, David Murphy (capt), Aindreas Doyle; Rory Quinlivan, Daithí Waters; Shane Roche, Ciarán Lyng, Ben Brosnan; Colm Morris, Eric Bradley, Redmond Barry.
