The mystery gunman who shot rapper 50 Cent nine times has been named in a new hip-hop tell-all.
New York magazine music editor Ethan Brown investigates the shooting of 50 in June 2000 in his book Queens Reigns Supreme: Fat Cat, 50 Cent And The Rise Of The Hip-hop Hustler, reports gossip site PageSix.com.
While 50, real name Curtis Jackson, has refused to name his assailant in interviews, he has mentioned the shooter was no longer alive.
Brown claims Brooklyn artist Darryl ‘Hommo’ Baum was responsible for the shooting, and was himself fatally gunned down just three weeks later.
Brown contradicts 50's suggestions Baum was killed in retaliation for his wounding, claiming the 34-year-old was murdered because a fellow gang member killed one of the Cash Money Brothers crew.
