Turner’s Cross to host battle for second place

Cork City and St Patrick's Athletic go head-to-head in a race for second place in tonight's eircom League of Ireland Premier Division clash at Turner’s Cross (kick-off 7.45pm).

City will be looking to bounce back from their defeat against Drogheda United last Friday as they lie just two points behind the Saints with three games remaining.

The sides have met four times so far this season between league and Setanta Sports Cup, and it is the Rebel Army who have the upper hand in league encounters, having won 1-0 at Turner’s Cross earlier in the season, while the sides’ meeting at Richmond Park finished in a 1-1 draw.

City boss Damien Richardson should have virtually a full squad to chose from, as only Darragh Ryan (pelvic injury) will definitely sit out the tie, while fellow defender Brian O’Callaghan (hamstring) is rated as doubtful.

The visitors will be looking to maintain their good form that saw them knock five past Shamrock Rovers on Friday night.

The main injury concern for the Saints is goalkeeper Barry Ryan who is struggling with an injury that may force him out of tonight's game after missing Friday's game.

Joseph Ndo is still a doubt as he has a thigh injury, while Anto Murphy returns to the squad.
