Rovers played with ten men for an hour to earn a vital point in their battle to avoid relegation.

Keith Doyle threaded a pass through for David Mooney who ran on to shoot past Stephen O’Brien to give Rovers the perfect start after just two minutes.

But Rovers’ hopes suffered a blow when star striker Trevor Molloy was sent off on 32 minutes for dissent.

Town were much the better side and finally equalised on 49 minutes when Sean Dillon headed home a Dessie baker corner.

Town were then reduced to ten men on 81 minutes when Alan Murphy was sent off for an off the ball clash with Stephen Grant.
