FA Cup giant-killers Slough have a great chance of progressing further after being handed a second-round tie against fellow non-league opponents Yeading in today’s draw.

The Berkshire side, 2-1 conquerors of Coca-Cola League One visitors Walsall yesterday, have got a home clash against the club 12 places above them in the Ryman League Premier table.

“We would rather have had a league club,” Slough captain Steve Daly told Sky Sports News.

“It is Yeading, which is a club we have played already this season [and it was] 2-2, and we have a reasonable record at home.

“But it has favoured us being at home and we are looking forward to it now.”

Histon, another of the teams to pull off a shock yesterday with a 1-0 victory over Coca-Cola League Two strugglers Shrewsbury, have a home tie against either Darlington or Yeovil.

Steve Fallon, manager of the Southern League Premier Division minnows, has got the draw he wanted.

“We’ve got a chance to put on another show against league opposition,” he said on Sky Sports.

“We wanted to play a league side again, simply because we wouldn’t like to go out of the competition against a team we may be expected to beat.

“If we can perform as we did yesterday and they have an off day we have a chance of getting through to the next round.”

Conference North club Hinckley, who dumped out Torquay 2-0, will be at home to another League One club – either Bristol City or Brentford.

Conference Premier side Halifax, 3-1 victors over League Two side Cambridge, have been rewarded with a home tie against familiar faces in the form of League Two newcomers Chester.

Exeter, Conference conquerors of League Two Grimsby, will have to go one better as they travel to League One Doncaster Rovers, while League Two’s Rushden and Diamonds will host either Mansfield or Colchester after their victory over higher-ranked opponents Bradford.
