Duff in line for Chelsea return

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could bring Damien Duff, Celestine Babayaro and Adrian Mutu into his squad for the Barclays Premiership clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park tomorrow but full-back Wayne Bridge is doubtful with a calf injury.

Mourinho may also make a change up front but looks set to keep faith with the defence which was on duty at Birmingham in a Chelsea side yet to concede a Premiership goal under his management.

Many have been surprised that £17m (€25.2m) winger Duff has not yet been employed following his recovery from a shoulder injury last season which he proved by playing a full 90 minutes for the Republic of Ireland last week.

Joe Cole could keep his midfield place after scoring as a substitute at St Andrews.

Team (from): Cech, Ferreira, Gallas, Terry, Bridge, Geremi, Makelele, Lampard, Smertin, Drogba, Kezman, Gudjohnsen, Parker, Carvalho, Tiago, Duff, Mutu, Cole, Johnson, Cudicini.
