Sports car enthusiasts are celebrating the return of the MG to one of the world's greatest motor races after a gap of 36 years.
About 30 MG owners formed a motorcade to mark the car's reappearance at the Le Mans 24-hour race this weekend.
The multi-million pound 2001 version has been created by Huntingdon-based race team Lola for MG and will be driven by former Formula 1 racer Mark Blundell.
Members of the MG Owners' Club were at Lola's headquarters with Paddy Hopkirk, 68, the last driver to drive an MG at Le Mans, to begin a celebration trek to France for the race.
Lola, which last competed in Formula 1 in 1997, has spent nine months creating the new 500-horsepower MG which has a top speed of more than 200 mph.
