Labour's McManus wants clarification on national health plan

The Labour Party’s spokesperson for health, Liz McManus, has called on the Minister for Health, Michael Martin, to detail how he plans to fund the proposed national health strategy.

The Labour Party’s spokesperson for health, Liz McManus, has called on the Minister for Health, Michael Martin, to detail how he plans to fund the proposed national health strategy.

Deputy McManus said most of the country’s main hospitals are in severe financial difficulty and she is demanding to know how the Minister intends to deal with the crisis.

Deputy McManus also stated that the lack of funding for our healthcare system could force the closure of wards and the cancellation of services.
