Police in the North are investigating after the bodies of two men were found in separate incidents on Christmas Eve.

In the first, 63-year-old Ronald Reid was discovered at his apartment in Bangor.

His death is being treated as suspicious after a post mortem revealed a number of unexplained injuries.

It is believed the injuries may have been sustained on Monday, December 22.

Elsewhere, a murder investigation has been launched in East Belfast, where 41-year-old Matthew Goddard was found at around 9.40pm on the night before Christmas.

Police believe Mr Goddard suffered a brutal attack during which he was beaten with own electric guitar in the living room of his home.

A 21-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested today in connection with the murder and are being questioned at Musgrave Police Station.
