Aer Lingus has knocked Ryanair off its perch in a key airline industry battleground.
The state owned national carrier has been voted best overall value for money airline by Ireland's top one thousand chief executive's. It's the first time in the ten-year history of the prized category that Ryanair has failed to win it.
Tadgh Kearney, of the Air Transport Users Council says, "things have really changed".
"This tells us that Aer Lingus is not only providing good service but its also providing good value. We now have the regular experience of seeing Michael O'Leary and Willy Walsh debating who's providing the best value, that would have been unthinkable two years ago."
