No agreement reached on abortion legislation

The Cabinet has yet to reach agreement on proposed abortion laws.

Ministers met this morning to discuss the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill but hadn't signed off on it before the Dáil sitting at 10.30am.

It is understood the Cabinet will reconvene after the Order of Business to continue discussions.

Speaking on his way into Government Buildings earlier, Enda Kenny said the new legislation will provide legal certainty and will be in keeping with the Constitution.
