Up to 10,000 visitors are expected in South Roscommon from today for the Irish National Sheepdog trials.

National sheepdog trials expecting up to 10k visitors

Up to 10,000 visitors are expected in South Roscommon from today for the Irish National Sheepdog trials.

150 sheepdogs and handlers from all over Ireland and The Isle of Man will compete in the competition in Brideswell over the next three days.

Overseas visitors are also expected from the UK, USA, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy and China.

Con McGarry is Chairperson of the Connacht branch of the International Sheep Dog Society said "eveything is buzzing" and the public is welcome to attend.
