Thursday's strike by staff at Aer Lingus has been called off.

Thursday's planned strike by staff at Aer Lingus has been called off.

Talks at the Labour Relations Commission ended earlier today with recommendations for both sides.

Union committees are currently settling down to further talks with Aer Lingus management.

A Spokeswoman for SIPTU, Barbara Kelly, said: "There are six different points that the committee has to consider. They will be discussed by the committee and the company."

Under the proposed recommendations the rate of payment for clerical and administration will be adjusted along with introducing a facility for early retirement for those over 55.
