CRC and HSE representatives due before PAC

Representatives from the Central Remedial Clinic, its former board and the Health Service Executive, will come before The Public Accounts Committee this morning.

The committee is meeting to resume its consideration of top-up payments to executives.

On the agenda will the report published by the HSE-appointed interim administrator John Cregan and the governance issues it highlighted.

"[It looks at] the Cregan report, which … looked into the affairs of CRC, in terms of their governance and management of funds - and other issues," said Committee Chairman John Mc Guinness.

He said the past chairman and current chairman would both be present.

Deputy Shane Ross, also on the committee, said he wants to know if the new board will ask former CEO Paul Kiely to return some of the payments made as a "miscalculation".
