County Westmeath has been hit by a number of cases of harmful bacteria.

County Westmeath has been hit by a number of cases of harmful bacteria.

The Midland Health board is warning people in the area to boil water and be extra cautious around food.

The bacteria can be found in contaminated food and water. Symptoms of the condition caused by coming in contact with the bacteria include diarrhoea, fatigue, vomiting and low-grade fever.
