Munster have confirmed the signing of Ulster fly-half Billy Burns from Ulster ahead of next season.

Burns has been Ulster's first choice fly-half since arriving to the province from Gloucester in 2018, making 107 appearances for Ulster and has earned seven caps for Ireland.

Burns will replace Joey Carbery at the province, who is set to join French side Bordeaux ahead of next season.

As a result, Ulster are likely to be in the market for a fly-half, with Jake Flannery the only senior option at 10 for the province.

Munster have also confirmed prop John Ryan has signed a contract extension at the province that will see him play next season.

Ryan has made 217 appearances for Munster since making his debut in 2011, has won 24 caps for Ireland.

In the second row, Cian Hurley has also signed a one-year contract extension.

Hurley has recently returned from an ankle injury, and can play in the second and back-row.
