St Patrick's Athletic have confirmed Jon Daly has been sacked as manager of the club.

Daly leaves the club in seventh place in the League of Ireland, following their 1-0 defeat to Sligo Rovers on Monday night, their seventh defeat of the season.

Daly guided the club to the FAI Cup in November and a third place finish in the league, 10 points behind Shamrock Rovers and departs the club after a year at Inchicore.

He was the assistant manager to Tim Clancy before he left the club last season.

Chairman Garrett Kelleher said:“We would like to thank Jon for his time at the club, and in particular our FAI Cup success at The Aviva last November.

"We wish Jon the very best for the future.”

St Patrick's Athletic travel to Tallaght on Friday to take on Shamrock Rovers in their next game.
