However, goals from Con O'Callaghan and Colm Basquel helped Dublin to a more comfortable second half, with Roscommon only scoring four points.

Dublin will be away to Cavan next, while Roscommon will host rivals Mayo.

Louth got the better of Meath by 3-10 to 9 points in Inniskeen.

Sam Mulroy scored 1-4, while Craig Lennon scored 2-1 in a clinical display by the Leinster runners-up.

Armagh responded from their Ulster final defeat with a 0-16 to 0-11 win over Westmeath.

Rory Grugan scored five points for Armagh, as they are level on points and points difference with Galway. They will travel to Derry next weekend, in a must win game for Mickey Harte's side.

In the evening game, Donegal once again got the better of Tyrone as they were 0-21 to 0-14 winners in Group three.
