Dublin proved too much for Derry as they ran out 1-16 to 1-11 winners in Celtic Park.

It was Dublin who started the quickest of the sides, with some excellent scores from Ciaran Kilkenny and Ross McGarry helping the All-Ireland champions to a 0-7 to 0-3 lead after 24 minutes.

Derry got back into the game through a well taken goal from Conor McCluskey, as they finished the first half strong as Dublin took a 0-9 to 1-4 lead into the break.

Dublin started the second half similar to the first, with Cormac Costello scoring a goal just after he came on to give them a 1-12 to 1-7 lead in the 52nd minute.

From that moment on, Derry couldn't get back into the game, as Dublin kept the scoreboard ticking to run out five-point winners, in an impressive victory.

In Castlebar, Mayo were 0-15 to 0-8 point winners over Roscommon.

In an entertaining first half, Ryan O'Donoghue led the way for Mayo with three points, with excellent scores from Stephen Coen and Colm Reape.

Roscommon kept the pressure on their rivals, with Diarmuid Murtagh leading the way as Mayo took a 0-7 to 0-6 lead into the interval.

In the second half, it was one-way traffic as Mayo scored the next seven points, as Roscommon went 22 minutes without a point.

Kevin McStay's side were comfortable winners in the end to get their third league victory.

In Division Two, a last minute point ensured Meath rescued a  draw away to Cavan a they finished 0-11 each.

Clare moved into second place in Division Three with a five point victory away to Limerick with a 1-16 to 0-14 win.

In Division Four, there were wins for Laois and Wexford.
