ISEQ slips down 23 today

The ISEQ began the week on a negative note as shares slipped back 23.79 to 5,421,88.

Financial stocks slipped back today. Allied Irish Bank dropped 13c to €12.35 while Bank of Ireland dropped 14c to €10.57.

Shares in Anglo Irish Bank closed down 15c to €12.55 while Irish Life & Permanent dropped 3c to €12.35.

Ryanair shares climibed 6c today to €4.75. This follows figures showing the number of passengers on Ryanair flights in June was up 24% on last year.

2,273,390 passengers flew in June of this year, compared to 1,829,390 in June 2003. The load factor last month was 87% last month, up from 79% a year earlier.

Shares in Jurys Doyle were up 10c today to €10.55. The Group opened their fourth US hotel today as the Jurys Boston Hotel officially open its doors to guests.

The Boston hotel is in addition to three hotels in Washington. This hotel brings to 32 the number of Jurys Doyle properties in Ireland, UK and the United States.

Tullow shares slipped 2c to €1.86 today.

Tullow Oil announced today its subsidiary company, Energy Africa has reached an agreement to develop the Kudu gas field in Namibia.
