Soccer: Todd put on Charlton transfer list

Andy Todd has been placed on the transfer list by Charlton after a training ground bust-up with a team-mate.

Andy Todd has been placed on the transfer list by Charlton after a training ground bust-up with a team-mate.

The incident took place just before the Charlton team bus departed for last night’s 1-0 Premiership defeat against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Todd did not travel to the match and today Addicks boss Alan Curbishley, chairman Richard Murray and chief executive Peter Varney met to discuss the 27-year-old’s future.

A club spokesman told Charlton’s website: ‘‘The matter has been dealt with internally and Andy Todd is now available for transfer.’’

It is not the first time Todd has been in hot water as he parted company with Bolton two years ago after a training ground punch-up with assistant boss Phil Brown.

But it remains to be seen whether the enormous black eye spotted on the face of Charlton goalkeeper Dean Kiely as he left Villa Park last night was a related matter as the Addicks have not named the other player involved in the incident.
