Luke Dempsey's Leinster will face Ulster in the Martin Donnelly & Co. Interprovincial football final in a fortnight, after late points from Damien Healy and Padraig Davis saw them edge Munster 1-10 to 1-9 in Portlaoise.

A first half haul of 1-2 from Tipperary forward Declan Browne had the visitors 1-4 to 0-5 in front at the break, but Dublin attacker Alan Brogan's goal and a late flourish saw Leinster Paris-bound.

Kerry All-Star nominee Colm Cooper set Browne up for a 15th-minute goal as Munster started well. Paul Galvin opened the scoring after 8 minutes, before Offaly's Pascal Kelleghan and Browne exchanged quick scores.

Kildare half forward John Doyle then pinged over a 13th-minute free before Browne smashed his goal past Westmeath stopper Gary Connaughton.

Browne and Doyle traded placed balls early in the second half as Munster stepped it up a gear with Limerick's Conor Fitzgerald and Cooper on target.

Leinster hit back as Brogan ended a right wing move beating Seamus O'Donnell from close range, but the Limerick goalkeeper was equal to a Doyle goal attempt four minutes later.

Another Browne free was then cancelled out by Doyle's 49th minute free from 35 metres as Munster held onto a 1-8 to 1-7 advantage.

Wexford marksman Matty Forde pointed from the right wing four minutes later to level, then Westmeath's Healy popped up from wing back to score.

Browne squared things again, but substitute Davis - who scored 2-28 in Longford's four championship matches last summer - stole in to confirm Leinster's outing at the Stade Colombes.

Afterwards new Longford boss Dempsey praised his side. "The goal from Alan Brogan came at an important time - it really lifted the whole squad," said the former Westmeath supremo.

"We got a great overlapping point from Damien Healy late on and Padraig Davis - who I hope to seeing a lot more of - did very well when he came on.

"There were a number of counties represented, especially the likes of Longford, Carlow and Wexford - who you don't hear much of on the championship scene, so to have those them represented in Paris is marvellous and I'm delighted for the players involved."
