Two due in court after dissident-republican probe in West

Two men are due in court in Dublin this evening in connection with an investigation into dissident republican activity in the West.

Two men are due in court in Dublin this evening in connection with an investigation into dissident republican activity in the West.

The men - one in his late 20s, the other in his 30s - were arrested in Clogher, Claremorris in Co Mayo on Saturday after gardaí raided a house.

Officers discovered explosive substances as well as component parts for bomb-making.

The men are due before The Special Criminal Court at 7pm.
