Team captain Jackie Tyrell has been recalled to the Kilkenny side for tomorrow's All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Clare (Croke Park, throw-in 4pm).

Manager Brian Cody has made two changes to the team that beat Galway last month - James Stephens defender Tyrell and Carrickshock attacker Michael Rice both return.

Tyrell steps in at right corner back, in place of Michael Kavanagh, while in a reshuffle of the forwards, Rice will start at right half-forward. Eoin McCormack is the player to make way.

There are a number of positional switches from the 2-22 to 3-14 quarter-final win over Galway - Noel Hickey and JJ Delaney swap positions in the full-back line, while in the forwards, Eddie Brennan and Martin Comerford have both been moved into the full-forward line from positions on the forty, with top scorer Henry Shefflin (1-25) named at centre forward.

The Cats are appearing in their tenth successive All-Ireland semi-final. They have won six (1998-1999-2000-2002-2003-2004) and lost three (1997-2001-2005) of their last nine semi-finals. Present manager Brian Cody has been in charge for seven of those.

KILKENNY (SHC v Clare) - J McGarry; J Tyrell (capt), JJ Delaney, N Hickey; J Ryall, J Tennyson, T Walsh; D Lyng, J Fitzpatrick; M Rice, H Shefflin, E Larkin; E Brennan, M Comerford, A Fogarty.
